Our trip to Lighthouse Beach in Port Lavaca

Yesterday was John's first beach trip! 

We went to Port Lavaca.  There is a bay there with a little sandy beach.  The water looks very cloudy, but we were told it is usually quite clear.  It is a great little beach for toddlers, because the water is brackish rather than salty, really shallow, and very warm.  John had so much fun.

Brandon on the other hand, who dislikes 1. sunburn 2. heat 3. beaches... let's just say he was a good sport ;)

The mud on his legs is the result of me being silly and throwing some at him, to which he solemnly and logically replied "Actually, that will block the sun.  Smear some all over, thanks."  This is why I love this man.
